Graham Roberts has questioned The Times’ Henry Winter on why he has not criticised Gabriel Martinelli for hitting the deck against Liverpool despite taking a potshot at Harry Kane for doing the same against Everton.
Kane has come under plenty of criticism for going down in the manner that he did after being shoved in the face by Abdoulaye Doucoure in the 1-1 draw against Everton last Monday.
Danny Murphy told talkSPORT last week that the striker ’embarrassed himself’ with the way he acted while Jamie Carragher said on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football that he would not accept it if he saw his son go down theatrically in a similar manner on the football pitch.
Winter also took to social media to accuse Kane of ‘exaggerating’ the contact and ‘milking’ the incident.
Harry Kane milked that, then stayed down. Abdoulaye Doucoure was stupid, raised his left hand, deserved the red, but Kane exaggerated the contact. Embarrassing from Kane. #EVETOT

Martinelli was involved in a similar incident during Arsenal’s 2-2 draw at Anfield, with the Brazilian seemingly going to the ground in an effort to get Ibrahima Konate in trouble with the referee.
Roberts questioned why Winter did not have a single word to say about Arsenal forward.
@henrywinter you haven't mentioned the dove by Martinelli yesterday like you did last week with @HKane did you miss that yesterday

Spurs Web Opinion
I think it is fair to expect Kane to be held to a higher standard than others because he is England’s captain.
However, what is annoying is that some opposition fans seem to think that the 29-year-old is overly protected by the pundits when the opposite is evidently true.
