Football Insider have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have turned down an offer from Burnley for Eric Dier.
Dier has just one year left on his contract at Spurs and the centre-back has not featured in any of the North London club’s matchday squads so far this season.
Over the last week, various publications have revealed that Tottenham are trying to offload the 29-year-old before Friday night’s transfer deadline (90 min).
A couple of days ago, it was reported that Dier had emerged as a late target for German giants, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund (Kaveh Solhekol – Football Daily) while Fulham have also been credited with an interest in the England international (talkSPORT).
Burney enter race for Eric Dier – Spurs reject an offer
If Football Insider’s latest update is to be believed, Vincent Kompany is keen to strengthen Burnley’s backline before the transfer window shuts and has identified Dier as a target.
The outlet adds that the Clarets submitted a loan offer for the 29-year-old, which has been turned down by Spurs.

With Dier having 12 months left on his contract, it makes no sense for Spurs to consider loaning him out. The Lilywhites would be looking to finalise a permanent sale before Friday evening’s deadline but the decision would ultimately rest with the centre-back.
