Serhou Guirassy, who is said to be on the radar of Tottenham has admitted that he is hoping to complete a transfer to Rennes.
Guirassy managed to score nine goals in 23 Ligue 1 appearances last season (transfermarkt.com) and was one of the few shining lights in Amiens’ poor campaign that eventually saw them being relegated to Ligue 2.
Previous reports indicated that Spurs were set to make an approach for the 24-year-old (Daily Mail), while Arsenal and Chelsea are also said to be keen on his services (The Express).
However, RMC Sport poured cold water over Spurs’ chances of landing the centre-forward by revealing back in June that he prefered to stay in France and move to Rennes.
Guirassy has now confirmed that he would indeed like to be playing his football at Roazhon Park next season following Amiens’ relegation.
When asked about the speculation surrounding his future, the striker told Goal.com: “I hope I will be at Rennes.
“For the moment, I am with Amiens and I will give my all as long as I am here.”

If reports are to be believed, we have looked closely at several centre-forwards from Ligue 1 this summer including Serhou Guirassy, M’baye Niang and Habib Diallo. That is not surprising considering there are several talented target men in Ligue 1 that could be available on a relative bargain. However, those rumours have died down recently and it appears increasingly likely that we are going to end up with someone tried and tested like Callum Wilson.
