Dele Alli has been back at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last weekend, albeit for a different kind of football. The former Spurs man was in attendance for the NFL game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Buffalo Bills.
It was not so long ago that Dele Alli was lighting up the pitch himself in North London. The midfielder was one of the key stars of the Mauricio Pochettino era at Tottenham and went on to amass 269 appearances for the Lilywhites, scoring 67 goals and registering 61 assists (Transfermarkt).
In the last couple of years, however, Dele has lost his status as a star player for club and country, after suffering from injuries and mental health issues. The 27-year-old discussed the latter in an appearance on The Overlap earlier this year.
While he is currently on the sidelines with an injury, the Everton player has been doing the rounds this weekend and visited two very different football games.
Dele spotted at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
After attending Everton’s 3-0 win against Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon and posing for photographs with the Toffees’ supporters at Goodison Park, Dele opted for a different sport altogether on Sunday.
Dele was spotted at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium yesterday as the venue played host to the NFL clash between the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Buffalo Bills. He shared a post to Instagram showing a very familiar view from the stands at his former stomping ground.
It is not the first time Dele has visited the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season, either. He was previously in attendance as Spurs defeated Manchester United back in August.
At the time, Tottenham captain Heung-min Son told the Independent how Dele was still a ‘member of the family’ at Spurs.
Spurs Web Opinion
Dele is looking in good shape, and most importantly, he is smiling, which is fantastic. It’s nice to see him attending games, but it will be even better to see him playing again. Hopefully, he can get on the pitch soon.
