90 min have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing Brentford goalkeeper David Raya as a potential replacement for Hugo Lloris.
Lloris’ current contract at Spurs runs until the summer of 2024 but reports indicate that Antonio Conte and Fabio Paratici have already held talks over replacing the Frenchman at the end of the current season (Evening Standard).
The 35-year-old has shown signs of decline of late, being guilty of several errors in the first part of the campaign.
TEAMtalk reported earlier this month that Everton’s Jordan Pickford, Leeds United’s Illan Meslier and Brighton’s Robert Sanchez are on Spurs’ shortlist to replace their captain.
If 90 min’s latest update is to be believed, the Lilywhites are eyeing another Premier League goalkeeper in the form of Raya.
The Spaniard, who is renowned for his footwork, has grown in stature since first joining the Bees in 2019 and is part of Spain’s squad for the World Cup in Qatar.
The 27-year-old’s current contract at the Brentford Community Stadium runs out in the summer of 2024 (Transfermarkt).
Spurs Web Opinion
It looks like Tottenham’s search for a goalkeeper is still at an early stage, with Paratici and Conte seemingly analysing several options. It would be interesting to see whether perhaps Conte changes his mind and decides to keep Lloris around for one more season if the Frenchman has a solid second half of the campaign.
