The Times have now revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have now reached an agreement over personal terms with Brentford goalkeeper David Raya.
Multiple sources have indicated recently that Raya is Tottenham’s top target to replace Hugo Lloris this summer, with The Sun even suggesting last week that the Lilywhites are ‘desperate’ to win the race for the 27-year-old.
The report claimed that the Brentford number one was willing to make a move to North London but added that he was also of interest to Manchester United.
Fabrizio Romano provided a positive update regarding Spurs’ pursuit of Raya on Sunday, stating Ange Postecoglou’s men were ‘on the verge’ of agreeing personal terms with the goalkeeper.
Spurs agree personal terms with David Raya
If The Times’ latest update is to be believed, Tottenham have now struck a full agreement with the Spaniard’s representatives on personal terms ahead of a potential move to N17.
However, it is explained that the Spurs hierarchy are still refusing to meet the Bees’ £40m valuation of the 27-year-old, who has just one year left to run on his contract at the Gtech Stadium.
Spurs Web Opinion
While Brentford are known to stick to their guns when selling players, they are not in a strong position with regards to Raya, given his contract situation.
They certainly would be hoping to get a bidding war going for their number one but with Man Utd now seemingly targetting Pickford, the path might be clear for Spurs to land the Spaniard for around £25m.
