According to talkSPORT, David Raya is now urging the Brentford hierarchy to give the green light for his move to Tottenham Hotspur.
There have been some significant developments in Tottenham’s pursuit of Raya over the last couple of days, with The Times reporting on Sunday that the Lilywhites had agreed on personal terms with the Brentford goalkeeper.
However, the report explained that Spurs had no intention of paying the £40m fee that the Bees were demanding for the Spaniard.
On Monday morning, Fabrizio Romano also took to social media to confirm that the 27-year-old had agreed on a contract with Tottenham and he added that the North London club were locked in negotiations with Thomas Frank’s men regarding a fee.
Raya is pressuring Brentford to let him join Spurs
If talkSPORT’s latest update is to be believed Raya is now putting pressure on Brentford to agree on a fee, with the goalkeeper said to be ‘pushing’ for a move to Spurs.
The report adds that Ange Postecoglou’s men are still ‘trying to convince’ the West London club to lower their £40m asking price
Spurs Web Opinion
The £40m asking price is merely a negotiating tactic by Brentford as there is no way that the Bees would expect to get that big a fee for Raya, given that he has just a year left on his contract.
My suspicion is that they would accept somewhere close to £30m for the Spaniard.
