Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are hoping to agree on a fee of around £30m with Brentford for David Raya.
We relayed a report from The Times last week which claimed that Spurs had struck an agreement on personal terms with Raya ahead of a move to North London.
However, it was explained that the Lilywhites were still a distance away from agreeing on a fee with Brentford, with Thomas Frank’s men said to be demanding £40m for their number one despite the fact that he only has a year left on his contract.
Spurs are not the 27-year-old’s only admirers, with The Telegraph reporting a few days ago that Manchester United are also monitoring the goalkeeper.
Tottenham want to pay £30m for David Raya
Football Insider have now also confirmed that Raya has agreed on a contract with Tottenham, with the outlet revealing that the club have offered the Spaniard nearly £100,000-a-week, which is around three times more than what he is earning at Brentford.
The report adds that Ange Postecoglou’s men are now in talks over a transfer fee with Brentford, with a deal said to be ‘edging closer’.
It is said that even though the Bees are continuing to demand £40m, Spurs are hoping to strike a deal for around £30m.

Brentford are not in a strong bargaining position due to Raya having just 12 months left on his contract but the Bees might be prepared to play the waiting game to see if other clubs express their interest in the goalkeeper.
So, Tottenham face a dilemma on whether to pay a premium for the 27-year-old or wait for a few more weeks until Brentford lower their demand, thus potentially risking some other club hijacking the deal.
