Tottenham’s reported search for a new goalkeeper may be coming to an end with Lyon goalkeeper Hugo Lloris destined for White Hart Lane – if and when Luka Modric is sold to Real Madrid.
Spurs have long been associated with the French international goalkeeper, currently at French side Lyon, as new manager AVB looks to bring in a replacement for veteran number 1 Brad Friedel. The deal had looked to be off as no news of progress had emerged in a number of weeks, but that changed today after comments from the player’s father and agent.
Luc Lloris is quoted in The Sun suggesting that his son will move to Tottenham and that the deal will be completed once Luka Modric is sold to Real Madrid;
“I’m sure that Hugo’s move will be accelerated if Modric joins Real”.
Modric has been the subject of immense transfer speculation since the window opened at the end of the season with Spanish giants Madrid leading the chase for the Croatian’s signature. The deal was reported as off during the week as a result of the two clubs not agreeing on a fee for the midfielder; however it is believed that negotiations are continuing.
