Hugo Lloris is waiting to see where he figures in Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas’ plans after saying it is “never nice” to hear he may not be first choice.
The French international keeper joined Spurs on transfer deadline day from Lyon and faces a challenge to oust Brad Friedel as AVB’s first choice after a fine start to the new campaign.
If Lloris thought that he would walk into White Hart Lane and immediately replace Friedel then he has made a massive mistake. Big Brad has been sensational since joining us from Villa and the place is his to lose. It’s good that we have such competition for the position, so knuckle down Lloris and prove your worth.
Questioned about what Villas-Boas said, Lloris said: “Obviously it’s never nice, but we’ll see when we return to work on Wednesday.
“When I join up with the national team I concentrate uniquely on that and we’ll see about my personal situation as soon as I go back.”
