CalcioMercato have revealed that AS Roma have struck a pre-contract agreement to snap up rumoured Tottenham target, Evan Ndicka.
Ndicka appears set to leave Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer when his contract runs out in June (Transfermarkt) and there is thought to be plenty of interest in the centre-back.
90 min reported two weeks ago that the Frankfurt star is an option that ‘appeals hugely’ to the Lilywhites.
The report added that Spurs could face competition from Barcelona for the defender, who was said to be open to a move to Camp Nou.
The Daily Mirror subsequently revealed two weeks ago that the 23-year-old is also on Liverpool’s radar ahead of the summer.
However, if CalcioMercato are to be believed, it is Roma who are now leading the race for Ndicka’s signature.
The publication reveals that clubs from the Premier League and La Liga have both contacted the centre-back but it is the Giallorossi who have made the most progress.
Roma have allegedly already agreed a pre-contract agreement with Ndicka, with the Serie A club thought to be willing to triple his current salary.
However, the report adds that the move is not quite a done deal, as things stand.

It would be quite difficult for Tottenham to attract a player of Ndicka’s qualify without having Champions League football to offer.
Finishing in the top four is not only crucial to attracting a big-name managerial candidate but it is also essential in order to make the kind of top-qualify reinforcements the squad is in need of.
