AS Roma Live have now suggested that Tottenham Hotspur are set to push ahead with a move for AS Roma general manager Tiago Pinto, having ‘identified’ him as the ideal replacement for Fabio Paratici.
Alasdair Gold stated in his column for Football.London last week that Pinto was one of the names at the top of Spurs’ wishlist for the sporting director role.
The journalist revealed that the 35-year-old was previously also on Liverpool and West Ham’s radars and that he is seen by some as the most natural replacement for Fabio Paratici.
This was subsequently followed by an update from Mais Futebol a couple of days later, which claimed that Tottenham were battling West Ham for Pinto’s services, and suggested that the Hammers are leading the race for his signature.
If AS Roma Live’s latest update is to be believed, Tottenham are now considering an ‘assault’ on the Portuguese director, having firmly set their sights on him.
The publication asserts that Pinto looks set to say ‘goodbye’ to the Stadio Olimpico and the hypothesis of his move to Spurs is now ‘gaining ground’.
Spurs Web Opinion
I certainly do not think Pinto and Arne Slot would see eye-to-eye in terms of their footballing philosophy, which is why I would be extremely surprised if the Roma director is on Tottenham’s wishlist any longer for the sporting director role.
