According to the Italian publication Leggo (as relayed by Forza Roma), AS Roma general manager Tiago Pinto, who is on Tottenham’s radar, is now about to exit his role at the Stadio Olimpico.
With Tottenham confirming the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as their head coach earlier this week, one would assume that the club’s next order of business would be to replace Fabio Paratici.
Pinto is one of the names thought to be in consideration at the North London club, with Alasdair Gold revealing via Football.London last month that the 35-year-old is one of the leading candidates to take over in N17.
This was subsequently followed by an update from Mais Futebol a couple of days later, which claimed that Tottenham were battling West Ham for Pinto’s services, and suggested that the Hammers are leading the race for his signature.
Pinto is now close to leaving Roma
If Leggo’s latest update is to be believed, Pinto is now ‘close to saying goodbye’ to Roma and is about to be replaced by Frederic Massara, who recently parted ways with AC Milan, as early as next week.
The outlet states that Pinto is now being targetted by Premier League sides, with Spurs being the only ones named in the report.

Strangely, it does not appear as if Tottenham are in a particular hurry to get a new sporting director in place.
The club seem to be planning for the summer transfer window even though the position remains vacant.
Perhaps, the Spurs hierarchy are waiting in order to ensure that they get their top candidate.
