According to FirenzeViola.it, Fulham are now ready to turn their attention to AS Roma centre-back Roger Ibanez, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur over the last few weeks.

Multiple Italian outlets have claimed over the course of June that Spurs are one of the front-runners to sign Ibanez.

Romagiallorossa.it claimed two weeks ago that Roma sporting director Tiago Pinto had met with the Tottenham hierarchy to speak about the Brazilian.

It was even suggested by Leggo (26/06/23 as relayed by Corriere Giallorosso) earlier this week that there is the possibility of Spurs using Ben Davies in a swap deal to sign the Roma star.

Fulham could enter the race for Roger Ibanez

However, FirenzeViola.it have now suggested that Fulham are set to enter the race for Ibanez’s signature.

It is explained that the Cottager’s top target was Igor Julio but having failed with an approach for the Fiorentina star, they are now ready to turn their attention to the Giallorossi centre-back.

However, the publication adds that Ibanez has ‘many options’ from several different countries to choose from, with some clubs already alleged to have taken ‘decisive steps’ in their pursuit of the defender.

Spurs Web Opinion

All of the speculation linking Ibanez with a move to Tottenham has come from Italian outlets, which suggests that the information is coming from sources at Roma or the player’s entourage.

There has been no indication from journalists with sources high up at Spurs that the Brazilian is one of the North London club’s top centre-back targets.
