According to reports from Manchester Evening News and The Daily Star, United boss Jose Mourinho is planning a big money transfer raid of Tottenham defenders Danny Rose, Kyle Walker and Eric Dier.
The future of Kyle Walker has been unclear for weeks with most reports suggesting interest from the blue side of Manchester. However, it appears numerous articles now hint towards the Red Devils as the leading party in the race for the right-back. But now it seems United will be looking to pick up the signatures of not one and not two, but three of Tottenham’s key squad members, in a move that would see Eric Dier, Kyle Walker and Danny Rose all jump ship for a lump sum of £110 million.
The three England internationals have all played a critical role in Tottenham’s solid defence this season, having conceded just 24 goals in 36 Premier League games. United’s inconsistent defence has been plagued by injuries this season, so it is no wonder Jose Mourinho is looking to inject some quality stability.
Previously, other reports had indicated Mourinho’s interest in Eric Dier, attaching a figure of £40 million. However, following United’s 2-1 defeat at Tottenham in the last ever game at White Hart Lane, the rumours have blossomed into something much larger.
The Manchester United manager was unable to comment on transfer speculation, as the grumpy gaffer only took two questions in his post-match interview before walking out. I guess he was more caught up in emotions than we all realised.
What do you think? Is that enough money? Or should we even be selling to Premier League rivals?
