According to The Independent, news of Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho’s reported interest in signing Harry Kane for £100 million caused laughter not just amongst us fans, but in the boardroom at Tottenham too.
The article suggests that Spurs have absolutely no intention of selling star striker Harry Kane, who’s 29 Premier League goals last season saw him win his second Golden Boot award in as many seasons.
In fact, Daniel Levy’s estimation seems to be much closer to £200 million, which means Manchester United would have to fork over double their intended amount for the red-hot striker.
That said, regardless of a bid, there’s no way on heaven and earth that this sort of a deal would go through, and that seems to be the message from the hierarchy at Tottenham too.
Now it’s all about retaining our Champions League status and continuing to progress domestically and abroad in future campaigns so that rumours like this never cause anything but amusement at the club.
