CalcioMercatoWeb.it have claimed that Antonio Conte and former Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho are the two names on Paris Saint-Germain’s wishlist to replace Christophe Galtier at the helm.
Conte’s current contract with Tottenham runs out at the end of the season and recent reports from Italy have predicted that the 53-year-old could part ways with the North London club at the end of the season (Sky Sport Italia via Tutto Juve).
Italian publications have suggested over the last few weeks that AC Milan wish to replace Stefano Pioli with the Spurs head coach in the summer (La Reppublica 07/02/23 via Milan Live).
CMW.it have now put forward PSG as a potential destination for Conte at the end of the season.
The report explains that Galtier is coming under pressure after the Parisians’ elimination from the French Cup last week and that the 56-year-old could lose his job if the Ligue 1 giants do not progress to the quarterfinal of the Champions League.
It is asserted that Mourinho and Conte are the two names at the top of Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s wishlist to take over at Parc des Princes.
Spurs Web Opinion
I can understand why Conte would want to return to Italy to be closer to his family and compete in a Championship that he is familiar with.
However, I do not understand what would appeal to the 53-year-old about the PSG job, where anything other than winning the Champions League would be considered a failure.
