Tottenham have confirmed some initial changes to the first-team squad numbers, including which numbers the club’s new signings have been allocated for pre-season.
Spurs are currently embarking on their pre-season tour of South Korea and will later face games against Sevilla, Rangers and Roma as part of their preparations for the new season.
They have been active in keeping the squad fresh this summer, drafting in Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison and most recently Clement Lenglet for Antonio Conte’s disposal.
Tottenham last week revealed Richarlison would take on the famous No. 9 shirt and they have now confirmed the numbers some of their new recruits will be donning over the pre-season period.
Goalkeeper Forster has been allocated the No. 20 which was previously worn by Dele Alli while Perisic and Bissouma, who missed the club’s opening friendly against the K-League All-Stars, have taken the No. 22 and No. 38 respectively.
However, Spurs made sure to stress that the numbers displayed by the players ‘may not be representative of their finalised squad numbers for 2022/23’.
Meanwhile, young midfielder Pape Matar Sarr, who spent last season on loan with former club Metz, was allocated his first Spurs squad number as he took up the No. 29.
The updates come after the club also confirmed Cristian Romero made his move towards his favoured No. 17 shirt, which freed up the No. 4 for Oliver Skipp to inherit in his second full season at the club.

Players tend to lean towards their preferred squad numbers and pre-season is the time for changes to happen, which makes it a bit of a juggling act with plenty of arrivals and departures.
