Estadio Deportivo have claimed that despite Giovani Lo Celso’s impressive second-half display against West Ham United on Tuesday, Tottenham have already decided to offload the midfielder this summer.

The report provides an update on Real Betis’ efforts to re-sign Lo Celso, stating that the Argentine is a player the La Liga club ‘especially like’.

It is said that the 27-year-old looks destined to leave the North London club this summer following two loan spells away at Villarreal.

Betis allegedly reached out to Lo Celso’s entourage during the middle of last month to find out if the player would be open to returning to the Benito Villamarin Stadium.

However, Estadio Deportivo add that the Spanish side will have to act fast if they wish to sign the Tottenham man as Aston Villa are ‘very interested’ in his services while Napoli are now thought to have moved into pole position for the player’s signature.

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not think Tottenham would be in a hurry to get rid of Lo Celso as Postecoglou might want to take a closer look at the Argentine during pre-season.

While the likes of Davinson Sanchez, Joe Rodon and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg have seemingly already been transfer listed, I believe there could yet be a way back for Lo Celso at Spurs if the midfielder is willing to stay and fight for his place.
