Serge Aurier has taken to Instagram to post a funny message about beating Arsenal, with Nottingham Forest handing the Premier League title to Man City yesterday.

It appeared to be just a matter of time before Pep Guardiola‘s side lifted the trophy after the Gunners’ form fell off a cliff over the past month or two.

However, Arsenal had a chance to at least make the Citizens play for their trophy this weekend had they defeated Forest on Saturday. Unfortunately for them, they fell to a 1-0 loss.

Serge Aurier started the match at right-back and earned a clean sheet for his side as Nottingham Forest edged Arsenal out 1-0, thus officially killing Mikel Arteta’s hopes of winning the Premier League.

While Aurier is far from remembered for his solid defending in North London, he put on a defensive masterclass up against the likes of Leandro Trossard on the day.

And it appears he has not forgotten his Tottenham roots, as he posted a clear message: ‘If we are not champions, they will not be champions too. My Spurs family.’

Spurs Web Opinion:

Such is the petty life of a football fan, Tottenham supporters will celebrate Arsenal bottling the league with as much joy as the Gunners did when Spurs lost out to Leicester.

What goes around comes around. Now Spurs need to concentrate on bridging the gap again next season.
