Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth has been called up to the senior Argentina squad for the first time ever.
The call up looks rather peculiar as Foyth has yet to appear for Spurs this season, and has still never appeared in the Premier League for his club.
The 20-year-old joined the club 13 months ago for around £8 million, but has yet to be properly utilised by Pochettino.
The youngster is presumably one for the future, but highly rated by those at the club as they haven’t decided to loan him out like fellow centre-back Cameron Carter-Vickers.
Foyth was called up as one of nine defenders, with the likes of Man City’s Otamendi.
Argentina face Iraq and Brazil next month.
Football London report that caretaker boss Lionel Scaloni is experimenting with his options, including the raw talent of Foyth, who may be given his debut.
Would you like to see Foyth in action more for Spurs?
