Michael Dawson insists that Tottenham are taking it one game at a time as they continue to push for a Champions League place.

The defender is keen to stress that all attention is focused on trying to beat Bolton Wanderers at the Lane on Saturday, before Wednesday’s clash against Manchester City at Eastlands.

He told the official Spurs site: “We know the importance of the games and the reward,” said Michael. “We’re in the driving seat and it’s down to us.

“We need to focus on Bolton and trying to get those three points on Saturday. That’s all that matters.

“They’ve got nothing to lose, they can come out and play with no fear. They will relish coming here and playing with that freedom. As a footballer, you want to win every game you go into so it will be tough and we know that.

“There are four teams fighting for that fourth spot and it’s another massive weekend, but we have to concentrate on what we have to do.”
