90 min have claimed that Tottenham could face competition from their North London rivals, Arsenal, and the reigning Premier League champions, Manchester City, for James Maddison’s signature in the summer.
Maddison, who is down the final 18 months of his contract at Leicester (Transfermarkt), has been linked with a potential move to Tottenham over recent months (Football Insider).
In fact, Spurs’ assistant first-team coach Cristian Stellini himself admitted last week that the coaching staff at the North London club are fans of the 26-year-old (Football.London).
The Telegraph revealed on Tuesday that Leicester have begun talks with Maddison over a new deal to ward off interest from the likes of Tottenham and Newcastle.
90 min have now reported that it is not just Spurs and the Magpies who are after the England international but Arsenal and Man City have also asked to be kept informed of his situation.
The report adds that the attacking midfielder has already turned down a number of contract offers from the Foxes but Brendan Rodgers’ men are still ‘pushing hard’ to hammer out an agreement.
It is explained that while Leicester are prepared to make Maddison their highest-paid player, they realise that this is their ‘last push’ and they would have to cash in on the player if they fail to persuade him to sign a new deal.

Tottenham will not stand any chance of snapping up Maddison if we do not finish in the top four.
Even if we do squeeze into fourth, the 26-year-old might pick Arsenal over us, given the direction both clubs are headed in at the moment. So, we might have to look elsewhere for a creative midfielder.
