90 min have claimed that Harry Maguire, Aymeric Laporte and Max Kilman are the three centre-backs at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist this summer.
We covered a report from The Daily Mail earlier this week which suggested that Spurs are ready to push forward with their summer plans following Ange Postecolgou’s arrival.
It was asserted that the Lilywhites had already made checks on Maguire, who was said to be keeping an ‘open mind’ about his future heading into the summer window.
90 min have now reported something similar, insisting that Postecoglou has now approved Tottenham’s plans to sign a new centre-back this summer, with the Man Utd man said to be at the top of the North London club’s radar.
However, it is explained that the England international has also been offered to clubs in Serie A and his preference would be to move to Italy.
The publication adds that Aymeric Laporte, who has fallen down Pep Guardiola’s pecking order at Manchester City, is next on Tottenham’s wishlist while Wolves’ Max Kilman also has admirers in N17.
Spurs Web Opinion
All three are natural left-sided centre-backs and are very comfortable on the ball, which would make them good fits for Postecoglou’s system.
However, the Australian does deploy a high line and I worry if the Maguire has the recovery pace needed to play in such a system.
