Rumoured Tottenham target Adama Traore has refused to make any commitments regarding a new contract at Wolves, remarking that he has allowed his agent to sort out his future.
Traore has been linked with a move to Spurs for quite a while and reports again reappeared during the January transfer window suggesting that the North London club were eyeing a move for the winger (TEAMtalk).
Despite the 27-year-old’s current contract at Molineux Stadium running out in June (Transfermarkt), Wolves decided to hang on to him in January, with Julen Lopetegui continuing to use him as an impact sub.
Traore replaced Mario Lamina at half-time against Tottenham on Saturday and had a decisive impact, scoring the only goal of the game with a well-taken volley after Raul Jimenez’s shot was parried into his path by Fraser Forster.
The winger has now refused to get into details regarding his contract negotiations with Wolves, insisting that he is taking things one game at a time.
When asked about his future, Traore told The Birmingham Mail: “My focus is on the pitch and after that it’s for my agent.
“We have had a great relationship through these years.
“My mentality right now is to help the team when I’m on the pitch and to keep winning.
“My mindset is to give everything to the team right now and after we will see.
“I’m always happy with Wolves, with the manager. I’m working here 100 per cent, my focus is just game by game.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Despite Partici being a fan of Traore, I would be surprised if Tottenham go back in for the pacy winger in the summer. It feels like the Lilywhites have moved on from the 27-year-old.
While I do expect Spurs to pursue an attacker who is good at carrying the ball, I believe that the likes of Wilfried Zaha or Allan Saint-Maximin are more likely to be targeted than the Wolves star.
