The Telegraph reporter John Percy has said that rumoured Tottenham target, Adama Traore, now appears likely to leave Wolves on a free transfer in the summer.
Traore’s current deal runs out in June (Transfermarkt) and it was reported by TEAMtalk in January that Spurs have been long-term admirers of the winger and continue to keep a close eye on his situation.
The publication suggested that the North London club were facing competition for the 27-year-old from several top-flight clubs, including Leeds United, but the player stayed put at the Molineux Stadium.
Traore served Spurs a timely reminder of his qualities on Saturday as he came off the bench to score the match-winner, helping Julen Lopetegui’s men emerge with all three points against the Lilywhites.
Speaking after the game, the Spaniard refused to get into details about his contract situation, remaking instead that he is focused on doing well for Wolves (Birmingham Mail).
Percy has now taken to social media to reveal that a contract has been on the table for three years for Traore but the player has shown little interest in signing it.
The journalist added that the winger might choose to leave the West Midlands club as a free agent in search of regular starts.
Increasingly likely that Adama Traore will leave #Wolves as a free agent this summer. Contract offer has been on the table for nearly 3 years, with little progress. Big decision to make and the desire for regular football is key (only 2 PL starts under Lopetegui so far) #wwfc

If Traore’s main motivation in seeking a move is to get regular starts, he is likely not going to be tempted by Tottenham’s offer.
The 27-year-old will know that he is only likely to be used as a squad player or at best, an impact substitute, which is the same role that he currently has at Wolves.
