90 min have claimed that Wolves are set to offer Ruben Neves a new contract after Tottenham expressed interest in signing the midfielder this summer.
Neves has been at Wolves since 2017 and he has established himself as one of the most consistent midfielders in the Premier League over the last few years.
However, the Portugal international’s future at the club is up in the air, with his current contract at the Molineux Stadium running out in the summer of 2024 (Transfermarkt).
90 min claim that as Neves approaches the final year of his contract, his agent, Jorge Mendes, has made it clear to a number of suitors that the midfielder is open to leaving Wolves this summer.
The report states that apart from Spurs, Newcastle United and Liverpool have asked to be kept informed of the 26-year-old’s availability while Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are also watching the player’s situation.
The publication asserts that Neves is keen on playing European football and could thus be open to a new challenge at the end of the current season.
Spurs Web Opinion
I would much rather see Spurs making a move for Neves rather than James Ward-Prowse, even if the former would cost considerably more than the Saints star.
However, the decision will likely rest with whoever replaces Conte and Spurs would thus have to finalise their managerial appointment first before they can make decisions regarding their summer targets.
