Bayern Munich midfielder Mark van Bommel has emerged as a January transfer window target for Tottenham after his contract talks with the German club stalled.

That’s what is being reported in the Sunday Mirror today.  The tough tackling Dutch midfielder, 33, wants to play in the Premier League before hanging up his boots.

Despite his age, Van Bommel has shown that he can still cut it at the highest level.  This isn’t the first time the player has been linked with a move to White Hart Lane.  There was plenty of talk surrounding a move to Spurs while he was a PSV and Barcelona player.

Spurs already have Wilson Palacios, Tom Huddlestone and Sandro who can play in his role – so only time will tell on what happens with this rumour.
