Harry Kane has this morning released a video in which he addressed Tottenham Hotspur fans to let them know that he has officially left the club today.
Kane finally completed his move to Bayern Munich today after undergoing a medical with the Bundesliga giants yesterday evening and has signed a contract until the end of June 2027.
The striker expressed his thanks to the fans for their support over the past twenty years which have seen him go from being an academy player to eclipsing Jimmy Greaves as the club’s record goalscorer.
With just a year left on his contract at Tottenhan, Kane admitted that he felt it was the right time to leave and did not want to go into the new season with more speculation about his future hanging over his head.
Harry Kane’s message to Spurs fans
He posted a message on his social media accounts in which he said: “I wanted to be the first to tell you Tottenham fans that I’ll be leaving the club today.
“Obviously a lot of emotions going through me right now; sad to be leaving the club I’ve spent nearly 20 years of my life at, from 11-year-old boy to a 30-year-old man now.
“There’s been so many great moments and special memories, memories that I will cherish forever.
“This is a thank you to all of my team mates over the years, all my coaches, all the managers, every single staff member to do with the club you know from the kit man to the chefs, everyone involved. Obviously, I’ve built special relationships with a lot of people and most importantly a thank you to you, the Tottenham fans.
“From the moment I’ve been playing, I’ve been one of your own and I’ve given everything I possibly could to make you proud and give you as many special moments and memories to hopefully last forever.
“I felt like it was the time to leave. I didn’t want to go into the season with a lot of unresolved future talk.”
Hard to put into words how to say goodbye to a club and fans who have done so much for me in my career. You will always be in my heart. Thank you Tottenham, thank you Tottenham fans. 💙 pic.twitter.com/L662cyax7p
