Kalvin Phillips has named Harry Kane as one of the players he has been impressed by during training and admitted that he is trying to pick up leadership skills from the England captain.
The striker has been in sensational form for Tottenham this season, scoring 27 times and providing 16 assists in all competitions.
However, that form has not necessarily translated to the England shirt this season, with the Spurs star having failed to score for the Three Lions in his last six games.
The 27-year-old will be looking to put that right as he is expected to start for England against Albania and Poland after being rested against San Marino.
Phillips named the Tottenham star, as well as Marcus Rahsford and Jesse Lingard as the players who have impressed him the most and admitting that he still has room for improvement as a leader.
The Leeds United midfielder said on MOTDx: “I think I learn off everyone.
“But you see players like Rashford and Jesse Lingard and stuff like that. Even someone like Harry Kane. Be a bit more of a leader.
“I don’t think that I’m too good at it at the minute, but hopefully I can start to get good at it after I’ve got a few more games under my belt.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Kane will enjoy playing with the likes of Foden, Mount and Grealish and the Spurs star would be a decent bet to win the golden boot in the Euros with the kind of service he will be expecting from a talented midfield.
