According to a report from TuttoJuve, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a summer move for Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips.
Tottenham’s new managing director of football, Fabio Paratici, has quite a busy few days and weeks ahead of him, with the club floundering in their pursuit of a new head coach.
The 48-year-old also has his work cut out regarding the club’s transfer plans, with the squad looking in need of significant strengthening.
Reports from Italy have suggested that Tottenham and Juventus could go head to head for multiple players this summer after Paratici’s arrival in North London.
If TuttoJuve are to be believed, Phillips could be one of those players, with the report revealing that Tottenham and Juve have both set their sights on the Leeds star.
Phillips, who starred for England in their win over Croatia last week, was also rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar last summer.
TuttoJuve also added that Real Madrid and Manchester City have their eye on the 25-year-old, who is said to be available for around £30m.
Spurs Web Opinion
Phillips would certainly improve us significantly but I cannot see us getting him. Not only would his price continue to rise significantly if he continues starting for England in the Euros but he will also likely have many other clubs after his signature.
Besides, with Hojbjerg having a decent first season at the club and with Skipp returning, a defensive midfielder is not a priority for us this summer. I would be happy for us to sign a player like Sander Berge to replace Sissoko’s/Winks’ place in the squad and for us to use the majority of our transfer budget on two centre-backs and a right-back.
