Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made an approach to PSV for winger Steven Bergwijn, which Sky Sports reporter Bryan Swanson says the Dutch club have confirmed.
Bergwijn certainly impressed last season when he bagged 15 goals and 13 assists in 41 games across all competitions for PSV (TransferMarkt). The winger has not hit the same heights this season, but still boasts six goals and 13 assists in 29 games (TransferMarkt).
The Daily Mail reported earlier today that Tottenham had turned their attentions towards the forward this transfer window as new head coach, Jose Mourinho, was keen to add some extra flair to his side.
Mourinho has not yet made a permanent signing during his time as Spurs head coach.
The rumours have only become juicer with the exclusion of Bergwijn from PSV’s latest squad to face FC Twente today.
Some Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news and it is fair to say that a number of them are very excited by the potential signing.

It’ll be interesting to see if he gets given the number 9 shirt or not. If he gets it, we can assume an out and out striker is unlikely to come in. If he doesn’t, then we can infer that the management are perhaps saving it for a striker.
