Sky Sports have now reported that Tottenham Hotspur are expected to confirm Steven Bergwijn as a new signing by this evening.
The winger was apparently scheduled to complete his medical in North London on Tuesday night ahead of his move from PSV to Spurs.
The report claims that the final price is set to be £25.6m plus add ons and they even label Bergwijn as a potential replacement for Christian Eriksen, despite differing positions.
The 22-year-old scored an impressive 15 goals in 41 games last season, adding another six strikes during this campaign already (Sky Sports).
Some Spurs fans may be familiar with the player already, as he featured against the club rather recently in last season’s Champions League group stage.
PSV were actually the club to hand Spurs a lifeline in terms of qualification for the knockout stages by holding Inter Milan to a draw that year. Of course, Tottenham went on the reach the final.
Photos have this morning emerged from Dutch news outlet De Telegraaf showing Bergwijn at Hotspur Way which could speed up the club’s announcement of the deal.

What Spurs need right now? No. Is signing Bergwijn a huge statement of intent with regards to the rebuild in North London? Yes. The fact that Levy is splashing out on a position that Spurs do not desperately need can only be a good sign.
