Tottenham Hotspur have been offered the chance to sign Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte this summer, according to 90min.
Laporte is looking for regular first-team football having fallen behind Nathan Ake in Pep Guardiola’s pecking order at the Premier League champions, while Paris Saint-Germain have also been contacted to make the Parisiens aware of his situation.
Tottenham are in need of a left-sided central defender to reinforce their backline with Clement Lenglet having been brought in on a season-long loan deal from Barcelona prior to the start of the current campaign.
The north Londoners were linked with moves for high-profile defensive candidates last summer with Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni and Josko Gvardiol of RB Leipzig both said to have been on the club’s radar but failed to lure either player to the club (Alasdair Gold).
Bastoni is now reportedly in talks to extend his contract at the San Siro (Gazzetta.it), while Gvariol is being courted by the likes of Manchester City and Chelsea (Daily Mail).

Tottenham are said to have opened talks with Barcelona to sign Lenglet for a relatively modest £12.3million permanent deal, it would be difficult to see why the club would look to spend at least double that on Laporte – who may in turn wish to play for a club in the Champions League.
Spurs’ transfer plans must be under huge pressure with the club no longer having a head coach and a managing director of football currently on a leave of absence.
What player would want to make the move at present while there is such turmoil surrounding Tottenham Hotspur?
