Tottenham Hotspur have finally confirmed the signing of Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest after a long week of transfer window rumours.

Johnson joins Spurs on a contract until 2029 and will wear the number 22 shirt.

In typical Daniel Levy fashion, one of Tottenham’s deals was left until transfer deadline day – although some would argue Spurs also ended up a centre-back and a midfielder short of a good window.

Brennan Johnson signs six-year contract at Spurs

Johnson joins from Forest where he impressed in their Premier League promotion campaign, and looked a bright spark in his debut top-flight season.

The Welshman is Tottenham’s ninth signing of the summer window, if we include the permanent deals for Pedro Porro and Dejan Kulusevski alongside Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison, Manor Solomon, Micky Van de Ven, Alejo Veliz, and Ashley Phillips.

Johnson will add a lot of pace and direct running to a technical attacking lineup alongside Kulusevski, Richarlison, Heung-min Son, Maddison and more.

Spurs Web Opinion:

It was a dramatic deadline day for Tottenham, but ultimately one that was filled with maybes and almosts. Johnson is a great signing to get across the line, but you can’t help but feel a centre-back and Conor Gallagher would have rounded things off nicely.
