Tottenham Hotspur may have gained an exciting new player in Brennan Johnson, but his former captain, Joe Worrall, says the player will be missed at Nottingham Forest.
After pursuing the 22-year-old all summer, Brennan Johnson finally made the move to Tottenham on transfer deadline day last week in a deal worth a reported £47.5m (Sky Sports).
The young Welshman joins a formidable attack including talent such as Heung-min Son, Dejan Kulusevski, and James Maddison.
Johnson leaves behind a Forest side who are looking to really establish themselves as a Premier League club this year, after surviving their first season back in the top flight.
With eight goals and three assists last term (Transfermarkt), Johnson was a key figure in helping his former club retain their Premier League status.
He had previously scored 18 goals and added nine assists to lead his team out of the Championship in the 2021/22 campaign (Transfermarkt).

Will Forest survive without Brennan Johnson?
Naturally, losing a player like that would hurt any team. And Forest captain Joe Worrall has admitted his club are losing a ‘vital part’ of their squad.
He told talkSPORT (05/09/23 at 10:28 am): “We’ll miss him definitely. He’s a lovely lad, he’s kind-hearted and on the football pitch, he offered us so much last year.
“He was a vital part of getting us up and keeping us there. That’s football though and it’s life. Tottenham is a huge club and I do wish him all the best.”

Brennan Johnson was the beating heart of that Forest team, and it will be interesting to see how they cope without him. I think they’ll be okay, as they proved against Chelsea last weekend.
Hopefully, he can bring those kinds of attacking returns to Spurs and become a key player for us in years to come.
