Joe Rodon has received plenty of praise for his composed defensive showing in Leeds United’s win over Millwall on Sunday.
Rodon will be hoping to get his career back on track on loan at Leeds after struggling to get much of a look-in at Tottenham since joining the club three years ago.
The centre-back’s loan spell at Rennes last season did not go according to plan but he has seemingly made a promising start to his time at Elland Road.
The Wales international started for Daniel Farke’s men at The Den as they came away with a much-needed 3-0 win, which was just the Whites’ second victory of the Championship campaign in six matches.
The game was much more closely contested than it appears, with Leeds having to defend a 1-0 lead until the 77th minute before a couple of late strikes saw them put the game beyond the home side.
Joe Rodon was Man of the Match for Leeds United
Rodon received plenty of praise for his performance, with former Leeds defender Jon Newsome describing the on-loan Spurs star’s performance as ‘outstanding’.
He told BBC Radio Leeds “Outstanding. Absolutely outstanding. Joe Rodon was Man of the Match for me. He got his head on everything. Was a different class. Really really was.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Rodon did have a rusty start to the season, which was to be expected, given that he has not played much football over recent years, but the centre-back now appears to be getting into his grove and showcasing the kind of quality we saw from him at Swansea.
