Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes Tottenham are heading in the ‘right direction’ thanks to their transfer business so far this summer.

Gearing up for their first full season under the guidance of Antonio Conte, Spurs have ensured the Italian coach has all the tools he needs for success by supporting him in the transfer market.

They have added six new players to their squad with Richarlison, Yves Bissouma and Ivan Perisic among the more eye-catching names to move to North London.

Spurs also added Djed Spence and Fraser Forster to strengthen Conte’s options on the defensive end, while they also signed Clement Lenglet on loan from Barcelona.

Tottenham will be looking to build on their top four finish last time out and close the gap on both Liverpool and Manchester City – and Klopp feels they have made sensible moves to achieve that.

He told Sky Sports: “No, no, I am interested in football and I am interested in the Premier League. Of course, I see it.

“I can’t say anybody made a massive mistake in the transfer market and then I sat at home and I said, ‘Thank God they took him’. That didn’t happen yet.

“Of course, Tottenham going in the right direction. It was clear, last year you could see the signings that they have made. They make absolute sense.”

Tottenham have identified the holes in their squad and areas that needed improving and they set out to plug those gaps.

It should give Conte more options to fall back on going forward while a larger, more competitive squad will ease the burden on some specific players.
