According to iNews, Manchester City are now exploring a potential move for rumoured Tottenham target, Evan Ferguson.
Ferguson is widely expected to evolve into a world-class centre-forward over the coming years, if he is not one already, with the striker already appearing to be a complete number nine despite being just 18 years of age.
His stock has only risen even further in light of the impressive start that the Irishman has made to the season, having found the back of the net four times already this season (Transfermarkt).
It was widely reported during the summer transfer window that Spurs considered a move for Ferguson as a potential replacement for Kane (TEAMtalk) but various outlets have suggested that the Lilywhites were priced out of the move by the Seagulls, who demanded a whopping £120m (Goal).
Man City now set to enter race for Evan Ferguson
iNews have now stated that City are among a number of Premier League clubs monitoring Ferguson’s progress.
The publication asserts that the teenager’s impressive start to the season has sparked interest from ‘nearly everyone’ of the Premier League’s Champions League contenders, including Pep Guardiola’s men.
It is alleged that while City view a move for Ferguson as a potential contingency plan in case Erling Haaland moves to Real Madrid in the future, they also believe that the Republic of Ireland international can play alongside the Norwegian goal machine.
Spurs Web Opinion
There is no doubt that all the big guns will be eyeing Ferguson in the coming transfer windows, with the striker looking overwhelmingly likely to break the British transfer record. There is no chance that Spurs would get involved in a bidding war for the 18-year-old.
