Journalist Dean Jones has suggested Paris Saint-Germain could make a move for Harry Kane if they are to lose Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid this summer.
Real Madrid are on the hunt for a high-profile striker to replace the departing Karim Benzema.
The Spanish giants have been linked with Tottenham Hotspur star Kane for a few months now, however, that interest is thought to have come to an end recently due to the player’s wage demands (AS).
The Spanish side have also long held an interest in French star Kylian Mbappe and that pursuit could be set to become a successful one this summer.
A report from the Daily Mail claims PSG are now open to selling Mbappe after he signalled his intention to leave the club, and Madrid may now swoop this summer.
Should that happen, Madrid would almost certainly leave Kane alone, but that doesn’t mean Tottenham can rest easy.
PSG worry for Tottenham if Mbappe leaves
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Dean Jones predicted PSG may turn their attention to Harry Kane if Mbappe was to leave this year.
He said: “Daniel Levy will now hope Real Madrid go and make PSG an offer for Mbappé and leave Harry Kane alone.
“The problem is that it might mean PSG come and knock on the door for Kane as a domino effect.
“It must feel like there is a constant thunderstorm over London and Levy just needs it to pass so that Spurs can have a settled pre-season knowing their striker isn’t about to be at the centre of a huge offer.
“I don’t think Kane would be desperate to join PSG, though. I don’t think that has the same lure as Madrid.”
Spurs Web Opinion
I really don’t think Harry Kane would be interested in joining PSG. The French league is nowhere near as strong as the Premier League or La Liga, and even if he were to win a trophy over there it would not feel as big an achievement as Kane would be striving for.
