In what comes as a potential boost to Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has said that the La Liga giants will not be signing Harry Kane or any other player this summer.

Until two weeks ago, various Spanish outlets (including Marca) were talking up the chances of Kane moving to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

It was suggested that the centre-forward is keen on making the switch to the Spanish capital while Daniel Levy is open to selling the 29-year-old to a club outside the Premier League.

However, the situation appears to have changed over the last week, with reports now suggesting that the move might not be on the cards.

We relayed a report from El Partidazo de COPE last week, which suggested that Real have decided they will not be pushing ahead with an approach for Kane this summer.

The outlet claimed that Los Blancos only expect four new faces to arrive at the club this summer – Jude Bellingham, Fran Garcia, Brahim Diaz and Joselu.

Perez confirms Harry Kane will not join Real Madrid

Perez has now seemingly confirmed the same, asserting that Joselu would be the last of the club’s summer signings.

The Real Madrid president had the following interaction with a fan over the weekend, according to talkSPORT:

The fan: “Joselu [deal] is already closed, Presi [president]?

Perez: “Yes, it will come next week.”

Fan: “And some more will come?”

Perez: “No.”

This might just be a case of Perez trying to play down the expectations of the Real Madrid fans rather than a confirmation that Los Blancos will not be signing another striker this summer.

However, it does appear as if Klylian Mbappe is likely to be the player they go after if they do decide to sign a big-name forward.
