Former Tottenham winger and club legend Gareth Bale is close to joining MLS side Los Angeles FC, according to Tom Bogert.
Bale, 32, is currently a free agent after leaving Real Madrid following a fruitful nine-year spell with the Spanish club.
The five-time Champions League winner had been linked with a third move back to Spurs (El Nacional), while he recently held talks with hometown club Cardiff after being spotted at the club’s training ground (WalesOnline).
But Bale, who is set to lead Wales at the World Cup in Qatar this year, is now on the verge of completing a switch to the USA instead, with LAFC set to seal a big coup.
Bogert reports Bale will sign a 12-month deal with the California-based side and will be eligible to make his debut in the club’s match against rivals LA Galaxy on July 8.

Spurs Web Opinion
While plenty will be disappointed about this, MLS is a good place for Bale to keep sharp ahead of the World Cup as he looks to wind down his playing career.
It isn’t the most strenuous league in the world which should suit him well given how things have panned out for him of late.
