According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham are tracking the progress of Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi.

Guehi has enjoyed a stellar season at Selhurst Park after a summer switch from Chelsea last season. The 21-year-old has been a key component at the heart of Patrick Viera’s defence, making 36 starts in the Premier League and scoring twice (TransferMarkt).

With Spurs qualifying for the Champions League thanks to Sunday’s 5-0 rout away to Norwich, the club announced an investment increase of £150 million to help bolster Antonio Conte’s squad ahead of next season (The Daily Mail).

Centre-back is believed to be a position that Conte wishes to address this summer (The Telegraph) and Guehi could prove to be the perfect profile to satisfy the Italian.

Guehi, who was included in Gareth Southgate’s latest England squad on Monday (Sky Sports), is a commanding physical presence at the back as well as possessing the composure and technical ability to play out with both feet and advance the ball.

He was also just named The Athletic’s Rookie of the Season for his breakout campaign in the Premier League.

Spurs Web Opinion

I have been extremely impressed with Guehi’s development this season and he has dealt with the responsibility of being a starting Premier League centre-back with flawless composure.

As a homegrown option with heaps of potential, he would be an amazing signing for Conte’s side, but with Spurs linked to options such as Pau Torres (The Express) and Alessandro Bastoni (Corriere Dello Sport), Guehi is likely one to watch for the future.
