Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge has predicted Crystal Palace will demand a hefty fee to sanction a transfer for Tottenham target Marc Guehi this summer, suggesting Spurs may take another year to look at the defender.
Guehi enjoyed a stellar debut campaign for the Eagles last season after joining the club from Chelsea in the summer.
He emerged as a crucial part of Patrick Vieira’s defence, making 36 starts (Transfermarkt) as Palace secured a 12th-place finish in the Premier League.
The Daily Mail reported last month that Guehi has since attracted interest from Tottenham, who have already added Ivan Perisic and Fraser Forster to their squad.
However, Bridge believes Spurs would have to part ways with ‘huge money’ to secure a deal with Tottenham potentially being keen on taking another look at him across the 2022/23 season.
He told GiveMeSport: “I think Crystal Palace would want huge, huge money, and maybe they’d [Tottenham] want to watch him again for another season, but I really like him.
“I’ve spoken so many times about how good I think Palace’s recruitment was last season, and him and Gallagher were the main reasons for that. He’s a really good defender.”
Guehi, who made his England debut in March this year in a friendly against Switzerland, earned another call-up to the Three Lions for their recent UEFA Nations League fixtures.
He made a cameo appearance from the bench in the 0-0 draw against Italy and played the full 90 minutes as Gareth Southgate’s side were routed 4-0 at home to Hungary (Transfermarkt).

Guehi produced an excellent season for Palace and was a big reason why they were able to put together a decent campaign as a young team.
He has plenty of talent and would be a very smart acquisition for a club like Spurs, but the fact he has only just joined Palace means they will rightly demand a big fee.
