Sky Sports journalist Lyall Thomas has suggested Tottenham could make an approach to sign Crustal Palace defender Marc Guehi in the future.
Guehi, 21, produced a strong campaign in his first season with Palace after making the move across London from Chelsea last summer.
He helped the Eagles secure a comfortable 12th place finish in the Premier League with 36 starts for Patrick Vieira’s side (Transfermarkt), which helped him earn a first call-up to the England fold.
The Daily Mail reported that Guehi’s performances subsequently caught the attention of Spurs, who have named him on a shortlist of central defenders the club could target (Football.London).
Thomas discussed the prospect of Guehi joining Spurs and while speculating whether the N17-based club could look to make a move this summer, he admitted a ‘more possible’ scenario would be waiting for another season to pass.
He told Last Word on Spurs: “There is another centre-back we’ve not mentioned and that’s Marc Guehi, but as we’ve touched on before he’s a potential star of the future.
“He’s had a season at Palace so he’s more established, but I think he’s more one for a few more years, whether Tottenham will push that now or maybe leave him where he is for the season and then do it further down the line is more possible.”

Guehi will be very sought-after next season with plenty of clubs already aware of how good he is after the season he had with Palace.
And the fact he is a young English centre-back with a long contract will work in Palace’s favour as they will be able to demand a hefty fee if they are interested in a sale.
