Football Transfers have claimed that Crystal Palace have put a huge price tag on Marc Guehi amidst interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
Guehi has been consistent for Palace since his switch from Chelsea back in 2021, with his displays earning him a spot in Gareth Southgate’s England set-up.
Football Transfers have revealed that Spurs are now looking for a versatile centre-back who can play across the back three and have identified the Eagles star as a top target.
It is alleged that the likes of Manchester United also have their eye on Guehi but it is Spurs who are currently at the front of the queue for the defender.
However, the report asserts that Palace want £65m for the 22-year-old while Spurs only want to pay around £45m for the youngster.
Football Transfers add that the Eagles might be powerless to stop Guehi from leaving Selhurst Park this summer after parting ways with Patrick Vieira and reappointing Roy Hodgson.
Spurs Web Opinion
I suspect that Tottenham primarily identified Guehi as a target for Antonio Conte’s system.
The club’s main centre-back targets by the summer will be dictated by who they appoint as their next head coach and whether he favours playing with a back four or a back three.
