The Daily Star have named Southampton’s Danny Ings, Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Andre Silva as four potential targets for Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the summer transfer window.
Harry Kane’s future has been subject to plenty of speculation over the last few months, with the striker said to be on the radars of Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain.
However, Sky Sports reported earlier this week that holding on to the England captain is the North London club’s number one priority during this summer transfer window.
The report backed Spurs to enter the market for a striker, revealing that the club are on the lookout for a back up to Kane, having decided not to take up the option to sign Carlos Vinicius on a permanent basis.
The Daily Star now claim that Spurs could potentially be eyeing two Premier League strikers in Ings and Watkins, with the former having only 12 months left on his contract with the Saints.
Toney, who has had a prolific first season in the Championship and Silva, who has found the back of the net on nine occasions for Frankfurt this season, are also mooted as potential options for Spurs.
Spurs Web Opinion
I believe Villa would demand a significant fee for Watkins which would likely put him out of our reach. I also doubt if Ings would want to come to Spurs to play second fiddle to Kane.
Andre Silva would be an uninspiring buy as he has hardly pulled up any trees at Frankfurt.
Toney is the only one among the four who would be realistic as well as an exciting signing but there is always an element of risk involved with singing strikers who do not have Premier League experience.
