Football.London have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur have a good relationship with CAA Stellar Sports, who now represent Ivan Toney, which could work to the North London club’s advantage in their pursuit of the striker in January.
Toney is currently serving an eight-month FA ban for breaching betting regulations, which will lapse in January, and several reports over the course of the summer have indicated that Tottenham are plotting a move for the striker in the next transfer window.
It was reported by The Times at the start of this month that Spurs and Arsenal are both considering a January move for the centre-forward, who is allegedly valued by Brentford at £80m.
Alasdair Gold also said in Q&A on Football London recently that Tottenham are expected to have ‘a proper look’ at the centre-forward in January but he warned that several other clubs would also be keen on the 27-year-old.
Spurs’ Ivan Toney advantage over other suitors
Football.London have now stated that Toney recently joined CAA Stellar Sports in a potential bid to facilitate a January departure from Brentford.
It is explained that the agency represents Ben Davies and Fraser Forster, and also helped the Lilywhites negotiate summer moves for Harry Winks and Joe Rodon to Leicester City and Leeds United, respectively.
The report further adds that CAA Base Sports, who are part of the same company, represent Son Heung-min, Richarlison, James Maddison, Pedro Porro and manager, Ange Postecoglou.
So, it is suggested that Tottenham could use their relationship with the company to their advantage to beat out some of their rivals to Toney’s signature.
Spurs Web Opinion
CAA Stellar are a huge agency and they have several top players around the world. So, they would likely have a good relationship with all the top clubs around the Premier League and world football. So, I doubt if Toney signing for them gives Spurs any sort of advantage over their rivals.
