Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Richarlison will be part of Tottenham’s matchday squad against Sheffield United this afternoon.
The Brazilian has had a difficult start to the season, having come under plenty of criticism for failing to find the back of the net in the first few Premier League games of the campaign (talkSPORT).
His struggles continued into the international break as he drew a blank in front of goal for the Selecao in their World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Peru.
Richarlison missed a gilt-edged chance in the former and was subsequently seen in tears on the bench. The Tottenham man explained a few days ago that his emotions had to do with personal issues off the pitch and revealed that he plans to seek ‘psychological help’ (Globo Esporte).
In his press conference on Friday, Postecoglou admitted that footballers are not immune to mental health struggles despite their sucess and remarked that the professionals at Spurs will give the 26-year-old the assistance he needs (Football.London).

However, the Tottenham head coach has confirmed that the former Everton man will be involved in the clash against the Blades.
When asked about Richarlison’s availability for his afternoon’s clash, Postecoglou said (via Charlie Eccleshare): “He’ll be involved. He trained today [Friday] and he looks fine.
“We’ll provide all the support he needs and we’ll try and help and sort of guide him to be in a place where he’s happy about himself. But he’ll be involved tomorrow. Absolutely.”

I believe that Richarlison himself would have preferred to be involved against Sheffield United. If the forward felt that he needed a break, I am sure that Postecoglou and the club would have been more than happy to give him a holiday.
