Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane has offered a damning verdict of Danny Rose’s performance for England against the Czech Republic.
The Tottenham Hotspur left-back was named in Gareth Southgate’s starting eleven ahead of Leicester’s Ben Chilwell for the match which could have seen them qualify for Euro 2020 but instead lost the encounter 2-1.
Keane labelled Rose’s display as “shocking” and “abysmal” when appearing as a pundit for ITV.
He also criticised the central defensive pairing of Harry Maguire and Michael Keane by suggesting that they are potentially unable to learn from mistakes but delivered the most negativity in the path of the 29-year-old.

Keane told KEANEK: “There’s no need to panic, Gareth’s record of the last few years as been outstanding.
“But there are other parts of the game [to be concerned about] like players switching off.
“My concern, always, for this players like Maguire and Keane is that they are mid-20s and, sometimes, I think these players do not learn [from mistakes]. We can’t keep waiting for these lads
“Rose’s performance tonight, my goodness. Someone’s got to get hold of that guy. He was shocking! Abysmal! I think he will be the same in another three or four years.
“Some players do not learn from their mistakes at the highest level. You will suffer from it.”
